A free guide by Lisa Stewart M.Ed., a special education advocate and educational behavioral support expert.
I'm Lisa, a special education advocate and behavioral support expert. I help parents navigate the complex and often confusing world of special education and advocate for their child's rights and needs. I also provide coaching on how to advocate for evidence-based strategies to improve your child's academic, social, and emotional outcomes.
I created this guide and this mailing list to share my knowledge and experience with you and help you make a positive difference in your child's life. As a bonus, you'll also receive regular tips and resources from me on how to support your child's learning and behavior at home and at school.
Backwards chaining is a simple and effective teaching method that breaks down a task into smaller steps and teaches them in reverse order. It helps your child experience success and confidence from the start, and reduces frustration and increases motivation as they take over more and more of the task.
By using backwards chaining, you'll not only teach your child how to do chores, but also how to learn new skills, solve problems, and cope with challenges. You'll also help your child develop a sense of accomplishment, self-esteem, and responsibility.
"Lisa's IEP Checklist has been a life-changer. It helped me understand exactly what to look for in my child’s IEP and gave me the confidence to communicate our needs effectively. I feel empowered and supported."
"Navigating the IEP process felt overwhelming before I found Lisa's checklist. Now, I have a clear guide to help my child get the most out of their education. It's a must-have for any parent in the special education system.
